LATE AS USUAL

of course, i am late as always with this post.

my guest spot at ART N SOUL in allentown PA went swimmingly. i worked on some really cool pieces and got to hang out with some great guys. the shop is immaculate. hands down the most beautiful shop i have ever set foot in. 2500sf with high ceilings with large work stations make for an impressive studio/gallery setting. i highly suggest going there.

and on another note, i want to congratulate curtis richter, owner of art n soul, on winning tattoo of the day saturday at the reading convention. good job, brother!

in allentown, there is this amazing antique/oddity/curiosity shop. it has totem poles and a brass tiger out front, so i thought “hmm. let’s see what’s in there.” expecting to find some neat little trinkets and knick knacks. instead i found the secret hiding place of some of the most wondrous artifacts i have ever laid eyes on outside of a museum. this place was insane. i stepped inside and was looking at 500 year old tantric skulls from tibet, 2000 year old jade swords, 7 foot tall jade crane statues, and other assorted treasures. the owner fo the store was one of the most interesting characters i have ever spoken with. i ended up buying a couple of things (of course not the $10,000 antique african sculpture) and by the time i walked the 5 blocks back to art n soul, i felt like if i went back, the store would be gone in a whisp of ephemeral smoke, like something from a fairy tale. if you ever go to allentown, go to hamilton street between 10th and 11th. you can’t miss it. look for the big brass tiger.

ANYway, i really enjoyed my few days up there, and i cannot wait to go back!
